1. Purpose. The ARISE™ Framework is published to advance the secure, ethical, and responsible use of technology, including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and digital governance.

This license allows public, academic, nonprofit, and internal organizational use of ARISE while protecting it from commercial exploitation without authorization.

2. Definitions. “ARISE Framework” means the Assurance of Responsible, Innovative & Secure Environments framework, including all models, control libraries, mappings, documents, diagrams, schemas, tools, and derivatives.

“Licensor” means Assessed Intelligence LLC.

“You” means the individual, organization, or entity using ARISE.

“Non-Commercial Use” means use that is not intended to generate revenue, directly or indirectly, including:

  • Internal risk management

  • Internal governance

  • Education

  • Research

  • Compliance readiness

  • Training

  • Academic instruction

  • Non-profit operations

“Commercial Use” means using ARISE to:

  • Sell services

  • Deliver paid consulting

  • Provide audits or certifications

  • Build paid software or platforms

  • Generate revenue, fees, or monetized outputs

3. License Grant. Assessed Intelligence grants you a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to:

  • Use ARISE internally

  • Adapt ARISE for your own organization

  • Train staff using ARISE

  • Integrate ARISE into your internal policies

  • Use ARISE for education, research, or nonprofit purposes

  • Only when those uses are non-commercial.

4. What You May Do. You may:

✔ Use ARISE to govern your own AI, cybersecurity, or technology

✔ Include ARISE in internal policies and programs

✔ Teach ARISE in classes, training, and workshops

✔ Modify ARISE for your internal needs

✔ Use ARISE in grant-funded or academic research

✔ Reference ARISE in compliance and risk documentation

5. What You May NOT Do Without a Commercial License. You may not:

✘ Sell ARISE

✘ Offer ARISE-based consulting

✘ Use ARISE to perform paid audits, certifications, or assessments

✘ Build a paid product, platform, or SaaS based on ARISE

✘ Repackage ARISE as your own framework

✘ Market ARISE as part of a paid service

If money changes hands, this license no longer applies.

6. Attribution Required. Any public or internal use must include:

7. Ownership. ARISE is the intellectual property of Assessed Intelligence LLC.

This license does not transfer ownership.

  • You own:

  • Your data

  • Your policies

  • Your implementation

Assessed Intelligence owns:

  • The framework

  • The structure

  • The control taxonomy

  • The mappings

  • The brand

8. No Warranty. ARISE is provided “as is.” Assessed Intelligence does not guarantee:

  • Regulatory compliance

  • Risk elimination

  • Audit success

  • Legal protection

  • You remain responsible for your decisions.

9. Termination. 

  • This license automatically ends if:

  • You use ARISE commercially

  • You remove attribution

  • You claim ARISE as your own

  • You violate these terms

  • Upon termination, you must stop using ARISE.

10. How to Obtain a Commercial License. If you want to:

  • Offer ARISE-based services

  • Run audits

  • Use ARISE in paid software

  • Include ARISE in consulting

11. Governing Law. This license is governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, USA.

12. Why This Exists. ARISE is open for use, not for exploitation.

  • Shared language for AI & cybersecurity, and compliance

  • Responsible innovation


We do not allow:

  • Free-riding

  • Rebranding

  • Monetizing our work without permission
